Round 1: Selection of Semi-Finalists by a panel of Judges
At least three entries from each location each category will be selected as semi-finalists. Selection of Semi-Finalists will be conducted by the Panel of Judges comprising representatives from Suria Meriang Sdn Bhd (representing Estee Lauder Malaysia) and ELMS Partners: Sony (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, Folio Apparel Sdn Bhd (representing eclipse), Malaysian Airlines, Miko Hair Academy Sdn Bhd and YTL Corporations Berhad (representing Tanjong Jara Resort). Panel of Judges decisions are final and cannot be challenged. Selected semi-finalists will be informed via phone and/or email and their details will be posted on www.esteelaudermodelsearch.com.my (ELMS Website) for Round 2, i.e. public online voting.

Round 2: Voting
A. Online Voting
Semi-finalists will be posted on ELMS Website in 3 batches for online voting. At the conclusion of the event in Location 7, and before the start of the event in Location 8, online votes (50%) and Panel of Judges points (50%) will be tabulated. Eight (Category A) and Eight (Category B) Contestants with the highest points will qualify for the Finals. Finalists will be informed via phone and/or email.
B. Wild Card Entries
At the final event at Location 8, four more Finalists (two Category A and two Category B) will be chosen by a panel of judges.

Round 3: Walk Off and Live Judging
The Finalists will be judged by a panel of judges at the FINALE in Location 8, on July 13, 2009. All finalists will be given a 1-Day catwalk training before strutting down the catwalk for a walk-off competition in front of the panel of judges. The contestants will be evaluated based on their beauty, walk, style and overall ability to carry off their chosen apparel and look. All Finalists must attend 1-Day Catwalk Training (July 12, 2009, time and venue to be advised) and FINALE on July 13, 2009. Failure to comply will disqualify the finalist for the finale. To win, contestants must have complied with the contest rules, must sign a standard release form confirming compliance with the contest rules as stipulated by Suria Meriang Sdn Bhd and ELMS Partners. By entering, contestants agree to the use of their photographs, names, biographical information and places of residence, without compensation, in print (include newspapers, magazines, print mailers, billboard and/or any other form of prints), radio, online or televised publicity relating to the contest.

ELMS Contest is open to all females who are between 15 and 55 years of age and who are not currently represented by, or under contract to, a modeling agency or the equivalent, except employees, directors and officers of Suria Meriang Sdn Bhd, and ELMS Partners, and their respective advertising and promotional agencies. Suria Meriang Sdn Bhd, and ELMS Partners, has the right to terminate or alter the rules of the Contest at any time without notice for any reason whatsoever. Entries are subject to verification and may be rejected if they are illegible, mechanically reproduced, mutilated, forged, falsified, altered, tampered with in any way or at the absolute discretion of Suria Meriang Sdn Bhd without assigning any reason. Entrants agree to abide by the Contest Rules and the decisions of the independent judging panel, which are final and cannot be challenged.

Valid Entrants must be accompanied by a portrait taken (Entry Portrait) at one of the ELMS Portrait Events stated in Schedule A, with the purchase of an ELMS Makeover Package at RM280. Contestants MUST be photographed in Estée Lauder makeup, styled by Miko Hair Studio & Academy and dressed in eclipse apparel (Refer to Judging section for details).

In the first and second round of judging, each contestant's Entry Form, photographs, and/or video/audio (together with the "Entry") will be judged using the following criteria in equal measure: Presentation, photogenic qualities, expression, ability to carry selected eclipse apparel (Judging Criteria). In the event of a tie, to break the tie, tied Entries will be judged on presentation and photogenic qualities only (Tie-Judging Criteria) Winners will be announced during the Finale on 13 July 2009.

If a finalist cannot participate in any of the photo shoots, publicity events or any other activities for or relating to the competition for whatsoever reason, Suria Meriang Sdn Bhd reserve the right to disqualify the finalist from the finale and appoint the next best finalist to replace her.
After the contest, Finalists and/or winners are required to attend events arranged by Suria Meriang Sdn Bhd from time to time for a period of a year from 13 July, 2009 upon being notified by Suria Meriang Sdn Bhd. Suria Meriang Sdn Bhd reserves the right to discontinue using any finalist/winner in advertising, promotional materials, etc. without assigning any reason whatsoever.

Finalist/Winner must be available for any photoshoot, interviews and/or television or taped broadcast in conjunction with ELMS. Transportation and accommodation will be provided for Finalists by Suria Meriang Sdn Bhd. Meal allowances and other daily expenses are not covered.

Finalists/Winners will receive the awards and/or prizes as listed in Prizes section. There will be no substitution of awards and/or prizes. Products, merchandise and prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash or resale. The judge´s decision as to the winners is final and no correspondence or appeal will be entertained. Rules are subject to changes or revisions with or without prior notice.
